Ottumwa -- In coach Barret Peery's 50th game as head at Indian Hills, his squad posted season-highs for points, field goals, field goal attempts, 3-pointers made and offensive rebounds in rolling over Clinton CC, 121-63, at the Hellyer Center Friday night.
The Warriors drilled nine 3s in the first half -- including four by Frank Williams and three by Trinson White -- in opening up a 69-28 halftime lead and didn't let up in the second half in raising their season record to 12-1. Nine of those 12 wins this season have come at home, where the Warriors have now won 29 straight games over the past two seasons.
Williams had a career night for Indian Hills, pouring in 27 points to exceed his previous best scoring output of 20 points in a win at Kirkwood ten days before. White equalled his career high with his 17 points.
Indian Hills also got 19 points from Jameel McKay and 18 from Ronald Ross in surpassing the 100-point mark for the eighth time already this year, one more than all of last year.
The Warriors buried 15 3s and hit 50-of-101 shot attemts, all of those numbers season highs.
Clinton scored the first two points of the game and never led again. Williams hit back-to-back shots, the second a 3-pointer, to put IHCC ahead and the lead steadily grew after that. The margin was 41 points by halftime and as many as 60 points late in the second half.
Richard Hurt scored 13 points to lead Clinton and Xzavion Jones added 12 for the Cougars.
Indian Hills closes out the HyVee Classic on Saturday night when the Warriors face Mineral Area at 7:00.
